The Wedding of Pierre and Jansie: A Celebration of Love in the Heart of Nature
When Pierre and Jansie invited us to capture their wedding just outside Stanford, we knew it was going to be something special. Nestled in a charming camping ground surrounded by lush greenery and the soothing sounds of nature, the setting couldn't have been more perfect. From the moment we arrived, we felt like we were part of the family, maybe because Roy is actually part of their family haha. A true testament to the love and warmth that radiated from these two.
The morning of the wedding was calm and relaxed, with the gentle chirping of birds and the distant laughter of friends setting the tone for the day. While everyone gathered around lending a hand where needed. Jansie was in her own cabin-like home, getting ready with the help of her best friends. Pierre close by spending time with his groomsmen outside by the river. It was clear that this day was all about embracing simplicity and letting love lead the way.
As the morning transitioned into afternoon, guests started to arrive, each bringing with them a piece of the joy that would fill the day. The wedding ceremony took place at an incredible viewpoint out in the open, with views stretching wide as if to welcome everyone beneath the mountain. A handmade archway adorned with wildflowers stood as a simple yet elegant backdrop. Pierre and Jansie exchanged vows — words that spoke of their commitment to each other. There wasn't a dry eye in the crowd.
After the ceremony, the real celebration began. Guests moved to a wooden encasement, where tables were set up with candles lighting the way and fairy lights strung between the trees. People danced barefoot, their laughter echoing into the night. We couldn't help but snap shot after shot of everyone having the time of their lives.
The speeches that night were heartfelt and filled with humor. Pierre’s oldest brother told stories of their childhood misadventures, while Pierre reminisced about the first time he saw Jansie. The toasts were followed by a delightful dinner, where everyone shared family-style burgers & chips and passed around bottles of locally made wine. It felt like a gathering of old friends rather than a formal event—a testament to Pierre and Jansie's desire for a wedding that was genuine and true to who they are.
As the night drew to a close, the stars began to appear in the sky, casting a soft glow over the camping ground.
Pierre and Jansie’s wedding was effortless and easy, just like their love for each other. It was a day filled with laughter, dancing, and beautiful speeches, a true celebration of what weddings are really about. We felt incredibly lucky to be a part of it, capturing those fleeting moments that will be cherished for a lifetime.
